Nature tourism accounts for 60% of Brazil's tourism revenue, report says

Data from Sebrae and the Ministry of Tourism indicate that nature tourism accounts for 60% of the revenue of the Brazilian tourism sector. Furthermore, 65% of travel companies now offer experiences linked to natural environments, signaling a market reorganization.

Among the destinations driving this growth, Chapada dos Veadeiros (GO) is recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The national park protects 65,000 hectares of Cerrado and offers trails to waterfalls such as the Saltos do Rio Preto.

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in Maranhão covers 155,000 hectares of dunes and seasonal lagoons. The high season runs from April to October when the lagoons reach their maximum volume after the rains.

The Pantanal, with 150,000 square kilometers, is the largest continuous floodplain on the planet and hosts a high density of wildlife. During the dry season, jaguar watching attracts visitors interested in conservation, while local communities participate in the tourism chain with accommodation and guides.
