Currently, tour operator Pinto Lopes Viagens offers a breathtaking circuit connecting the Amazon rainforest to Brazil’s vast flooded plains. The itinerary highlights the Pantanal, a continuous wetland spanning 150,000 square kilometers. This incredibly diverse region is home to a rich cataloged fauna featuring 698 bird species, 80 mammal species, and 260 types of fish.

The journey begins in Manaus, serving as the main base where groups stay at the stunning Uiara Amazon Lodge floating complex. Visitors embark on river expeditions to the famous Meeting of Waters at the confluence of the Negro and Solimões rivers, and hike through the lush trails of the Janauari Ecological Park. This ecosystem harbors massive native flora, including the majestic Samaumeira tree, which can reach towering heights of up to 70 meters.

Connecting with Brazil’s Central-West Rivers

Moving to the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the itinerary guides travelers to the spectacular limestone caves and crystal-clear springs of Bonito. A visit to the Gruta do Lago Azul (Blue Lake Cave) features a 300-step descent to reveal a breathtaking reflecting pool situated 80 meters below the surface. In the same region, an unforgettable snorkeling experience at the Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata allows visitors to drift gently along a 2.5-kilometer pristine aquatic trail.

The itinerary also includes a stop at the Buraco das Araras (Macaw Sinkhole), a massive crater in the Cerrado savanna measuring 100 meters deep and 500 meters in circumference. Afterward, the adventure shifts to the Pousada Aguapé, nestled in the rural landscapes of Aquidauana. This traditional lodge organizes exciting 4×4 night safaris to spot nocturnal Pantanal wildlife, as well as scenic aluminum boat tours along the region’s winding waterways.

The journey culminates in Brasília, Brazil’s modernist capital and political center mapped out by urban planner Lúcio Costa. This final stop showcases the iconic government complexes of the Praça dos Três Poderes (Three Powers Plaza), a masterpiece designed by the legendary architect Oscar Niemeyer. Beyond its architectural brilliance, the city provides a convenient logistical hub for international flights, ensuring a smooth return trip for ecotourists.
